Coach’s Message

Star’s Football Family-
LET’S GO! It is time to go full-on attack mode for the year of 2021! We have all paid a personal price during this time but I refuse to believe that we are done. Our best hour is coming and I cannot wait to share it with you!
Be Resolute in our Resolutions
The new year brings in a new energy. I am a firm believer in the power of positive thinking. Our thoughts become our beliefs and our beliefs become our actions. There is a new hope of a better tomorrow and brighter future. We have been in the dark long enough, it is time to shed some light on our life. However you want to phrase it, the best is yet to come! With that said, I like many of you look to forward to the new year as an opportunity to reflect, recalibrate and motivate myself to become a better person. Resolutions are an easy way to organize your thoughts for the new year. However, we cannot take these resolutions lightly. A resolution is an agreement made between you and you! A mutual contract that you must uphold and work daily. It should be hard, challenging and make you contemplate quitting. After all, isn’t that what life is all about. This year I have decided to share my resolutions with our SCN football family. Not to say look at me! On the contrary, by sharing them with you, I feel I am challenging myself to become a better version of myself. Here we go!
- Be impeccable with my words- Words are spells and I will work to not cast dark spells on myself or anyone else.
- Do not take anything personally- In my line of work, this is a good one. Good bad or indifferent I will work to show compassion to myself.
- Do not make assumptions: I think my wife will appreciate this one. I believe great leaders ask great questions. I can be better here.
- Do my best: Simple! Not so much. This means everything. Dad, Husband, Brother, Son, Friend, Teacher, Coach, Learner, Human. I will let you know.
Well, there it is. Just putting it on paper fills me with a renewed sense of purpose. I wish you and your family a healthy and prosperous new year. Here if you need anything.
The Plan
In the coming weeks, the IHSA and IDHP will be meeting to discuss the outline of the 2021 athletics plan. While everything is currently up in the air, I can assure you that I will be working for our players and parents to provide the best possible experience. I fully believe that we will have a 21 spring season. With that said, our parent group 4th Phase/Cover 4 Hospitality Group will begin moving forward with the plans for our 2021 spring campaign. While there is a lot that still remains unclear, we will be working to create an ELITE experience for all parents, players, and community members. Please be on the lookout for correspondences coming from both groups in the near future. It takes a village to run this football program and we will be calling on all of you to come and be a part of the mission, vision, and purpose. If you are interested in being on a committee please contact Trisha Sharkey at tshark3@gmail.com .

IMPORTANT NEW OPPORTUNITY:
- Story of the Season Recruiting Profile
- As many of you know, we worked with Chris Herman and his company Story of the Season to create an interactive digital recruiting resume for many of our players back in October. It has been a great way to showcase the great talent in our program directly to college coaches.
- If your son was already included in the Recruiting Profiles and you would like to have a personal link of just your son, Chris is offering the chance to purchase a custom link for your player for $39.99. If you are interested, you can purchase it here at https://www.storyoftheseason.com/subscribe. If you have not had a recruiting profile completed for your son, contact chris herman at Chris@storyoftheseason.com.
